Martin Custom Shop 000-14 Fret Acoustic Guitar Cocobolo, Carpathian Spruce, 42-Style

This is another stunning guitar that has graced us this year from the Martin Custom Shop. Highly detailed inlay work with a beautiful Cocobolo back and sides makes this guitar something special.

Not to be confused with its similar pal Adirondack Spruce, this Carpathian Spruce top is grown in high European altitudes, creating a tight grain with a very stiff top. This brings a nice sparkle and clarity to the sound of the guitar.

Complementing it nicely is the beautiful Cocobolo back and sides. This particular bookmatch has a unique grain and a deep rich color to it. Similar to the elusive Brazilian Rosewood, Cocobolo offers a complex low end with a bell like top end. Paired with the Carpathian Spruce top, this combo is excellent for fingerpicking, making this guitar super clear and articulate.

To round things out, this guitar is fitted with a select abalone inlay around the whole instrument with some extra snowflake appointments. To further complement the dark Cocobolo back and sides, an antique white binding wraps the guitar with some nice contrast.
